My cross stitching continues to be set aside while I indulge in a sock knitting binge. I have completed two more pairs of socks since my last post. The pair using the yarn that Gail gave me for my birthday is done. And then I decided that while I was on a sock knitting roll I’d continue with some for Christmas gifts. I have a blue pair done
and have started on a red pair.

I have decided on my January 2021 One monthly goals.
1. quilt ufo jelly roll quilt - This is a 2013 ufo from a workshop I taught at the guild. It was a great jelly roll pattern- worth repeating.

3. Pink ufo for the rainbow scrap challenge
I’m continuing to work on my quilt using large scale floral fabrics. It is now about 2/3 of the way done. I posted a picture of this to Susan’s Facebook page and she asked me if it had a name and said that she thought it looked like flower boxes. Up until then it didn’t have a name. Now it does: Flower Boxes.

This quilt has been at the top of my list since the beginning of the year and, I feel pressure to do it right, so I have procrastinated. sigh...
I started cutting for this quilt. The colors and fabric is just scrumptious.
The pattern calls for sets of strips in light, dark, light, and, sets in dark, light, dark. I really tried to make these accurate. From here, I will be cutting diamonds for the tops of the baskets. I am a little intimidated to work with diamonds.

I bought this kit in September while I was in Utah for our daughter- in - laws funeral. I loved the kit, and the fabrics, and thought I would make it as a way to remember her and heal. Quilting does that for me. It is so beautiful, I was afraid to even open it. Not to mention, I have never spent that much for a quilt. So my first goal for January is to really open, and read, and plan on making this quilt. I may have to learn a new technique and organize a little differently.
